THEATERWORK, welcomes you to its twelfth season in Santa Fe. We want to bring a little drama into your lives - or bring your lives into the transforming world of drama - either way. Drama brings us face to face with human weakness, evil, anxiety - with our strengths, our capacity for compassion, our desire for a sense of "home."
Theaters create open places around which people gather, maybe only a few dozen at a time, to pull the fragments together for an hour or two. They re-ignite, in the drama, a sense of the common good, the common destiny, the common ground. Now, more than ever, there is reason to keep working. Don't you agree? THEATERWORK will be presenting plays at the James A. Little Theater for this season. The beautifully renovated theater is on the campus of the New Mexico School for the Deaf. The seats are comfortable, but not too comfortable and the parking is free. Just a few blocks from downtown Santa Fe, right at the intersection of St. Francis Drive and Cerrillos Road.
THEATERWORK is a company with deep roots in the international theater community from its beginnings in the Teatro Laboratorio de Bogotá in 1970, through its long, fruitful stay in Minnesota, and now in New Mexico - has become the artistic home to many extraordinary theater workers and the company of choice for Santa Feans and visitors to the city. The vision is of theater as a gathering place - a place of stories, ideas, discovery and dialogue. The goals are simple enough: work toward the beautiful, work to excellence, work to transform our perceptions!
SUPPORT! LIVE! THEATER.
